a somatic poem through the lenses of Body-Mind Centering

They talk about vision
I feel you from your skin
They perceive you by your face
I recognize you by your hand
Since vision is overrated,
I am longing for my warmth to be felt
You see my structure from the outside, but I live in and under my skin
Can you please let go of my image and touch my skin, touch the air around my body?
Can you hear my movement from the other end of the room?
I am leaving traces on this floor
I am filling the air with my blood
I am moving not only my limbs but also my history
Can you feel it?
Can you perceive it?
Can you perceive it not only with your eyes but also with your whole body?
Can you hear the resonance in your bones?
My breath is approaching you with full open arms through my ribs
Can you hug me from the space I inhaled and exhale with me into merging?
Do you think we have ears to listen?
I close my ears and touch you
I place my ear next to yours to feel you
Can you listen to the ocean under my skin?
Can you hear yourself while listening to me?
Is it possible to merge and yet be ourselves?
Can we just be?
Can we once not do but be?
I want to learn you by the microcosmos inside you
I want to listen to you under your skin until we share one skin
I want to learn you until I forget all the ways I used to know you
-I assumed that I knew you-
I can feel you by your heartbeat with a touch on your fingertips
I can reach your history hidden in the palms of your hands
I can touch the joy inside you when you let go of what you hold in your pelvis
Is there a song I hear inside you?
I can hear it only if I forget all the ways I used to know you
-I assumed that I knew you-
Sometimes, I just do not care what you say or what you are labeled
My body feels how you are, who you are, and to become
-I can hear the words you do not dare to say-
You are not a static idea shattered into categories
You are alive within your body and in my senses
Each time becoming
I can hear it only if I forget all the ways I used to know you
-I assumed that I knew you-
